The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Dormaa East District, King Owusu, on Wednesday, 20th May 2026, officially cut sod for the commencement of a major educational infrastructure project at Kofi BourKrom, a farming community near Kyeremasu.
The project, which is being funded through the GETFund initiative, consists of a modern 6-unit classroom block alongside a 12-seater ultra-modern toilet facility aimed at improving teaching and learning conditions in the community.
Addressing the chiefs, elders, and residents during the sod-cutting ceremony, Hon. King Owusu assured the people that funding for the project was fully secured under GETFund, stressing that financial challenges would not delay the completion of the project.
According to him, the successful and timely completion of the project now depends largely on the commitment and hard work of the contractor. He therefore urged the contractor to work diligently to ensure the project is delivered on schedule.
Hon. King Owusu also appealed to the chiefs and people of Kofi BourKrom to cooperate fully with the contractor and his workers to create a peaceful and friendly working environment throughout the construction period.
The DCE further expressed gratitude to the people for the confidence they showed in Rachel Owusuaa during the elections, which led to her victory as Member of Parliament for the area. He encouraged residents to continue trusting and supporting her leadership, assuring them that she remains committed to bringing more development projects to the district.
Hon. King Owusu also extended special appreciation to Joseph Akwaboa for his continuous support and dedication toward the development of communities within Dormaa East.
Residents who attended the event expressed excitement and appreciation for the project, describing it as a major step toward improving education and sanitation in the area.
