Daniel Abiaw Brentu (Sir Dan), Former Unified SRC President of AAMUSTED, Chairs Vetting Committee Panel in KNUST GRASAG Elections

Daniel Abiaw Brentu, also known as Sir Dan, has been chosen as the Chairman of the Vetting Committee for the upcoming elections of GRASAG-KNUST — the student association for postgraduate students at KNUST.
Sir Dan is no stranger to student leadership. He was the Unified SRC President of AAMUSTED, where he led many great initiatives and helped improve student life on campus. His hard work and strong leadership have earned him respect not just at AAMUSTED, but across other universities in Ghana.
Now at KNUST, he’s been trusted to lead the team that will vet and approve candidates who want to contest in the GRASAG elections. This is a big responsibility, and it shows the kind of confidence student leaders and institutions have in him.
The panel is made up of seven capable individuals:
- Daniel Abiaw Brentu (Sir Dan) – Chairman
- Mohammed Abdul-Latif – Member
- Josephine Tetteh – Member
- Emmanuel Da-Costa Aboagye – Member
- Barikisu Alhassan – Member
- Deborah Obeng Agyemang – Member
- Jawahir Mohammed Abukari – Member
Together, they will make sure that only the best, most qualified students get the chance to contest and lead.
Having someone like Sir Dan lead this process means transparency, fairness, and experience will guide every decision. It also shows that student leadership is growing stronger, and that hardworking leaders are being recognized far beyond their original campuses.
From being a strong voice for students at AAMUSTED to now helping shape leadership at KNUST, Sir Dan’s journey is inspiring. His appointment is a big win for student democracy and a reminder that good leaders always rise.
